Oro Valley, incorporated in 1974, is a suburban town located 6 miles north of Tucson, Arizona, United States in Pima County. According to the 2020 census, the population of the town is 44,630, an increase from 9,700 in 2010 census. Dubbed the "Upscale Tech Mecca" of Southern Arizona by the Arizona Daily Star newspaper, Oro Valley is home to over 10 high tech firms and has a median household income nearly 50% higher than the U.S. median. The town is located approximately 102 miles southeast of the state capital of Phoenix.  

Oro Valley features some of the most beautiful views in all of Arizona, complements of the Santa Catalina Mountains and the Pusch Ridge wilderness area.  They are under management of the Coronado National Forest. Several hiking trails begin in Oro Valley and lead into the scenic mountains to the east.  Oro Valley provides extensive paved biking and cycling bi-ways that make it easy to exercise and navigate throughout the valley. The Oro Valley/Tucson Bike Path "LOOP" is 130 plus miles of car-free bike paths that start in Oro Valley and runs through Tucson. The manicured and well maintained bike loop is just one of the OV's pride and joy.  Pedestrian walking and jogging paths have made Oro Valley one of the most active communities in the country. Oro Valley is home to eight golf courses and several golf clubs.  There is something for everyone in this beautiful community.

Oro Valley offers some of the best schools in the entire state of Arizona. The Amphitheater Unified School District has a fantastic public school reputation. Other school options include Basis Primary, Leman Academy of Excellence, Casas Christian School, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, Immaculate Heart, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic School among others.

According to recent rankings released by Safe Home, the Town of Oro Valley has been named 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 Safest City in Arizona.
